Under the direction of the Minister of Energy, the Assistant Minister for Oil Affairs is conducting a field follow-up on the gasoline crisis, alongside technical specialists, to identify the causes of the issue.
Acting on instructions from Minister of Energy Eng. Mohammed Al-Bashir, Assistant Minister for Oil Affairs Mr. Ghiath Diab is personally overseeing an investigation into the gasoline-related problems affecting the Syrian Petroleum Company’s supply chain. This follows numerous complaints and reports regarding vehicle malfunctions among both private citizens and public entities.
The investigation encompasses a comprehensive review of every stage of the process—importing, testing, receiving, storing, transporting, and distributing the fuel. It aims to pinpoint the causes of the malfunction and any potential shortcomings, ultimately establishing accountability and taking necessary measures based on technical findings. This includes holding accountable—in accordance with legal procedures—anyone found to be involved in tampering, corruption, negligence, or dereliction of duty.
