The General Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Damascus and its Countryside, in cooperation with the Rural Damascus Governorate, is continuing to implement a supplementary water supply line for the towns of Eastern Ghouta as part of the "Our Countryside Deserves It" campaign. The initiative aims to stabilize the water supply and improve drinking water services
The project involves laying an 880-meter-long, 110mm-diameter pipeline starting from the Jobar pumping station to bolster the supply to Ain Tarma and Jobar Al-Mahariq, serving approximately 25,000 residents. Additionally, the project aims to eliminate unauthorized connections to the main 355mm-diameter supply line, thereby increasing system efficiency and improving water delivery to the local population
The work includes installing three supplementary lines for the Jobar Al-Mahariq network—with diameters of 90mm, 75mm, and 63mm—and connecting the Ain Tarma network to the new line to ensure more stable distribution. This project is part of a comprehensive plan to enhance drinking water services in Rural Damascus and improve the overall level of service in the beneficiary towns
