Drinking Water Returns to Several Al-Ghab Villages After More Than a Decade of Interruption
The General Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater in Hama, through the Shatha Unit and in cooperation with the local community, has restored drinking water services to the villages of Qabr Fadda, Al-Ramla, and Mazraat Al-Rayyan in the Al-Ghab area of the northwestern countryside of the governorate, after an interruption lasting more than ten years.
The restoration was carried out through works on the Al-Hawiz pumping line, extending over 12 kilometers. A new pipeline was also installed to Mazraat Al-Rayyan, with diameters ranging from 50 to 75 millimeters, to supply residential communities from the Al-Sous Spring line. Water began reaching the area gradually, while technical works continue to improve pumping stability.
In Qabr Fadda, damaged sections along the 12-kilometer pumping line were repaired, restoring water services to subscribers, with work continuing to extend the service to all beneficiaries.
These efforts are contributing to providing safe drinking water to more than 6,000 recently returned residents, while technical teams continue their work to restore water services to affected areas and improve the efficiency of water supply.
The Ministry of Energy extends its thanks and appreciation to the staff of the General Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater in Hama and to all those who contributed to restoring drinking water services to the Al-Ghab villages, in recognition of their efforts in implementing the pumping line and maintaining the water networks, and for the direct services they have provided to local residents and their contribution to improving the stability of water supply for more than 6,000 people.
