Ministry of Energy Discusses Policy Support and Capacity Building with IRENA
Eng. Ibrahim Al-Adhan, Assistant Minister of Energy for Planning and Institutional Excellence, held a meeting with Mr. Francesco La Camera, Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), at the agency’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The meeting focused on prospects for cooperation following the acceptance of Syria’s membership in the agency.
The Assistant Minister also held a series of meetings with Mr. Antonio Bernardini, IRENA’s Chief of Staff, and Mr. Abdullah Abu Ali, the official responsible for the Middle East and North Africa region. Discussions focused on supporting energy-sector policy development and strengthening capacity-building programs for employees of the Syrian Ministry of Energy.
Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening the Syrian Ministry of Energy’s engagement with international organizations, contributing to bridging gaps and addressing the technical and institutional needs of the energy sector during the coming phase.
