Rehabilitation of the 230 kV Zayzun–Basida Line in Idlib and Restoration of an 80-Tower Route
The Syrian Electricity Company has completed the rehabilitation of the 230 kV Zayzun–Basida high-voltage line in Idlib Governorate. This work coincided with maintenance and rehabilitation efforts on several 66 kV lines and comprehensive maintenance of the Basida substation.
The first phase of the project involved assembling and installing the metal tower structures, paving the way for stringing the conductors and connecting the line to the public electrical grid.
The line’s route comprises 80 towers; more than 40 of these had been damaged by shelling from the defunct regime. Reconstruction and rehabilitation work was undertaken to restore the operational readiness of this vital route and support the electrical system in Idlib Governorate.
The Ministry of Energy extends its gratitude and appreciation to the technical and engineering staff and the workforce of the Syrian Electricity Company for their efforts in rehabilitating the Zayzun–Basida line and for their ongoing work to restore the readiness and stability of the electrical system in Idlib Governorate.
