The Syrian Mining Company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the French company LODI CONSULTING to cooperate in the operation and investment of the phosphate washing plant, which has a production capacity of 1.2 million tons annually. This comes as part of the company’s efforts to promote investment in the phosphate sector and develop national mining projects.

The Memorandum aims to assess the technical, economic, and investment aspects related to the operation and rehabilitation of the plant and the development of its production capacity, while benefiting from modern expertise and technologies in phosphate washing and processing operations. This is intended to achieve higher technical specifications and enhance the product’s competitiveness in the markets.

The Syrian Mining Company stated that the Memorandum represents an initial step toward establishing an effective investment partnership with the French side and opens the way for broader cooperation in mining projects, in line with the company’s strategy to develop and invest in mineral resources based on modern economic and technical principles.

The company also noted that the phosphate washing plant, with an annual capacity of 1.2 million tons, is a key project within the phosphate industry, given its role in improving the quality of the ore, increasing its economic value, and enhancing local added value.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to developing partnerships with specialized companies and benefiting from international expertise, contributing to the rehabilitation of mining projects, improving their production and investment efficiency, supporting the national economy, and strengthening the position of Syria’s mining sector.
