Rehabilitation of the Khabur II Project Pumping Station in Deir ez-Zor to Support Irrigation and Drinking Water Projects

As part of the recovery plan implemented by the Deir ez-Zor Water Resources Directorate, the directorate has begun rehabilitating the Khabur II Project Pumping Station under the direct guidance of the Director General of the General Authority for Water Resources, Engineer Ahmed Al-Kawan, and the supervision of the Director of Water Resources in Deir ez-Zor, Engineer Abdul Rahman Al-Shantouri.

The project aims to secure irrigation for the Khabur villages along the canal's eastward and westward course, in addition to supporting the stability of drinking water supplies for six existing pumping stations on the canal: Hariza, Al-Harijiya, Al-Sour, Markada, Al-Hariji, and Mashakh.

The canal is approximately 45 kilometers long and is a water conveyance canal that draws water from the Euphrates River, making it a vital project for supporting the agricultural and service sectors in the region.

This work is part of the government's efforts to rehabilitate damaged infrastructure and improve the living conditions and services for residents of the eastern and western rural areas of the governorate.
