Equipping the Harasta Al-Jabal Wells Enhances Drinking Water Supplies for 100,000 Residents in Rural Damascus

The General Establishment for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Damascus and its countryside, in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, has completed the equipping of two wells within the Harasta Al-Jabal project in the Harasta area, as part of ongoing efforts to improve drinking water services in Rural Damascus.

The works included comprehensive technical installations for the two wells, with a total capacity of 85 cubic meters per hour, in addition to the installation of two electrical transformers with a capacity of 100 KVA for each well. The wells were also connected to an electricity line exempt from power rationing to ensure continuous operation and stable pumping.

With the two wells entering service, the total number of equipped wells in the area has risen to six, enhancing the project's production capacity and contributing to the provision of drinking water to approximately 100,000 residents, thereby improving public services and meeting the needs of the local population in Rural Damascus.
