Ministry of Energy Signs Contract to Supply Computers and IT Equipment for Central Directorates
As part of the Ministry of Energy's strategic commitment to advancing digital transformation and upgrading its IT infrastructure, the ministry has signed Mutual Contract No. 2 of 2026 with Tech Data Co. LTD for the supply and testing of various categories of laptop and desktop computers to support operations across its central directorates.
The contract was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Energy by the Minister of Energy, Eng. Mohammad Al-Bashir (First Party), and on behalf of the contractor by General Manager Mr. Anas Ahmad Al-Ratta (Second Party), in accordance with the Contracts Law, applicable regulations, and approved referral minutes.
Supply Specifications and Breakdown:
The contract covers the procurement of 55 computers across the following categories:
Laptops (Category 1): 29 units – DELL (Core Ultra 5)
Laptops (Category 2): 21 units – DELL (Core Ultra 7)
Laptops (Category 3): 1 unit – DELL (Core Ultra 7)
Desktop Computers (Category 4): 4 units – (Core Ultra 7)
Total Value and Execution Timeline:
The delivery timeline is set at fifteen days, starting the day following the issuance of the commencement order to the contractor, with delivery designated at the Ministry of Energy building (Dummar Project - First Block).
Warranty and Technical Support:
Under the contract terms, Tech Data Co. LTD provides a two-year manufacturer’s technical warranty covering factory defects and core component failures. Additionally, the contractor is committed to providing free technical support during the warranty period, with a maximum response time of 3 hours upon notification, ensuring uninterrupted operations across the ministry’s departments.
